SUPPORT A DREAM CATCHERS SCHOLARSHIP

Offering an opportunity for an education is one of the best initial ways to give children, especially girls, a chance to achieve their dreams and therefore our Dream Catchers Scholarship Program is one of our cornerstone projects.

We currently support around 200 students for their education, 85% of whom are girls. Although our focus is on educating girls and women, we have inherited a couple of brothers and other young men along the way. Our youngest is 4 years old and studies in Nursery. As our kids grow up, we have several student studying at university and one young woman has recently completed her 4 year bachelors degree.

There are 3 tiers of scholarships:

  1. Day Students – Students who live with their families and are supported in their education (including school fees, exam fees, uniform, books and stationery (in most cases)) and basic medical costs by Mitrataa and who also take part in our leadership and community networking programs. This costs A$400 per year.
  2. Day Boarder – Students who live with their families and are supported in their education (including school fees, exam fees, uniform, books and stationery (in most cases)) and basic medical costs by Mitrataa and who also take part in our leadership and community networking programs. This costs A$1000 per year.
  3. Hostel Students – Students who are unable to live with their family full time for various reasons and who are supported by Mitrataa to live in school hostels and our hostel. Some go home in holidays where it is safe for them to do so, others spend their holidays in our hostel. This costs $2,000 per year which includes all their school costs (including boarding costs) as well as all food, clothing, medical and other related costs for the year.

For all of these Dream Catchers scholarships, you will receive details of the child and their story as well as an annual photo and copies of their school reports with an update on their progress.

We always have girls on our waiting list for scholarships so if you are able to support a scholarship, please let us know.
